Frequently Asked Questions – Maitland Location
What’s the difference between Track 1 and Track 2?
Track 1 is our most popular program and includes Mat + Reformer Levels 1–3, Jumpboard, and props. It totals 350 hours and is ideal for instructors who want to start strong and build gradually.
Track 2 includes everything in Track 1, plus advanced equipment like the Cadillac, Tower, Push Thru Bar, Springboard, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, and Pilates Chair. It totals 500 hours and is best for those pursuing advanced roles like educator or rehab specialist. Both tracks qualify you for the NCPT exam.
Do you offer just mat training? Can I start teaching after just the Mat Certification?
Yes! Our 100-hour Complete Mat Certification is nationally recognized. Upon graduation, you’ll be able to teach private sessions or small group mat classes in studios, virtually, or independently.
Do you help with job placement after graduation?
We do! You’ll gain access to referrals at local studios, mentorship, apprenticeships, and career support including class audition preparation and interview coaching.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. All of our certification programs come with flexible payment plans designed to fit a variety of budgets and schedules.
Can I do some of the training online or hybrid?
Yes. Our Mat Certification can be done entirely online or in-person at your own pace. For Track 1 and Track 2, we offer a hybrid structure: anatomy and foundations are delivered online, and hands-on apparatus training takes place at our Maitland studio.
Why don’t you recommend Reformer certifications that are 100% online?
Reformer work requires real-time feedback and hands-on instruction to ensure proper biomechanics, safety, and cueing. Online-only programs can’t replicate the quality of supervised in-person training. Our program includes live studio mentorship to ensure confident and effective instruction.
How is your program different from Lagree, Megaformer, or XFormer certifications?
While these formats are inspired by Pilates, they focus on high-intensity workouts with minimal emphasis on anatomy or long-term movement health. They’re typically completed in a single weekend.
Soteria’s program is rooted in classical and contemporary Pilates principles, focused on biomechanics, spinal health, breathwork, and rehabilitation. Our training is 5–9 months long (except Mat Certification) and prepares you for a serious, sustainable career—not just boutique fitness trends.
