Meet Katie Good: An Orlando Local Pediatrician that loves Pilates!

Hey Soteria Family,

Incorporating a Pilates Routine: A Journey with Local Pediatrician Katie Good

In our bustling community, where health and well-being are paramount, we have the privilege of knowing remarkable individuals who inspire us through their dedication and passion. One such individual is Katie Good, a beloved local pediatrician and a committed member of our Soteria Pilates community. Her journey of incorporating Pilates into her daily routine is not only motivating but also a testament to the transformative power of this practice.

Meet Katie Good: A Dedicated Pediatrician

Katie is a wife, mom to 7 kiddos, and owner and pediatrician at Club Pediatrics, a concierge-style pediatric practice with house calls serving the greater Orlando area.  Dr. Good has always had a passion for health and wellness and having strong relationships with her patients and families.  Both as a seasoned pediatrician of over 15 years and as a mom herself, Dr. Good has always recognized parental health is critical for their kids’ health.  She encourages movement, mindfulness, nutrition, and preventive care to all her patients and parents.   Drawing both from her allopathic medical training as an MD and her integrative and functional medicine training, Dr. Good truly partners with her patients to evaluate, support, and treat.

The Pilates Connection

Despite her busy schedule, Katie recognized the importance of maintaining her own health and wellness. She turned to Pilates, a practice known for its holistic benefits, to find balance in her demanding life. What started as a personal fitness journey soon became an integral part of her daily routine.

“One of the things I love most about your studio is that not only are the classes themselves so worthwhile, but there is clearly an investment on your part in promoting longitudinal wellness and wellness for the future problems each of your clients will encounter.  I also love the mind-body connection that Pilates promotes which I think is a crucial foundation for wellness and is one of the unique elements that sets Pilates apart from weight lifting, cycling, running or HIIT workouts (all of which have some utility).”

The Benefits of Daily Pilates

Enhanced Physical Health: Pilates has helped Katie build strength, improve flexibility, and enhance her overall physical fitness. The low-impact exercises have been perfect for maintaining her energy levels and preventing injuries.

Mental Clarity and Focus: As a pediatrician, Katie faces high-stress situations regularly. Pilates has provided her with a mental escape, allowing her to clear her mind and improve her focus. The mindful breathing and concentration required in Pilates sessions translate into better decision-making and patience in her practice.

Work-Life Balance: Balancing a demanding career and personal life is challenging. Katie's daily Pilates routine serves as a grounding force, helping her manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance. This balance is crucial for her well-being and her ability to provide the best care for her patients.

Inspiration for Others: Katie's commitment to Pilates has not gone unnoticed. She continually shares her positive experiences with Pilates. Her story will inspire many to explore Pilates as a means to achieve their own health and wellness goals.

Katie’s Tips for Incorporating Pilates into a busy schedule

Start Small: Begin with short, manageable sessions and gradually increase the duration and intensity. Consistency is key.

Find a Community: Joining a Pilates class or community can provide motivation and support. It’s also a great way to make new friends who share similar health goals.

Prioritize Self-Care: Make time for Pilates, even on the busiest days. Treat it as a non-negotiable part of your routine, just like any other important appointment.

Listen to Your Body: Pilates is about connecting with your body. Pay attention to how you feel during and after each session, and adjust your practice accordingly.
